Job Overview
The internship will involve the preparation of a study of a sample of projects in up to 5 sectors across ADB’s portfolio.
Responsibilities
Report summarizing findings of the study including recommended eligibility criteria for projects to complete ‘light touch’ climate risk assessment.
Opportunities to improve climate risk assessment for ADB projects identified and integrated in ADB’s new climate and disaster risk screening and assessment tools.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program specializing in climate change, disaster risk management, hydrology, environmental engineering, environmental economics, or similar field.
Experience in applied research including literature review and stakeholder consultation.
Strong understanding of climate change adaptation and resilience principles and concepts as they relate to infrastructure and planning, including awareness of climate change challenges in ADB developing member countries.
Knowledge of international policy and commitments on climate change adaptation as relevant to MDBs and ADB’s developing member countries.
Experience and/or understanding of the infrastructure project cycle (planning, design, operation, and maintenance) will be an advantage.
