- Maintaining accounts: Keeping accounts receivable and payable up to date, and issuing invoices
- Reconciling: Comparing bank statements to general ledgers to confirm they match, and resolving any discrepancies
- Preparing financial reports: Gathering and preparing reports for managers to review
- Reviewing and processing expense reports: Analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts to maintain the company's financial records
- Assisting with audits: Helping with internal and external audits, and developing internal controls
- Posting journal entries: Ensuring all business transactions are recorded
- Monitoring and analyzing financial data: Collecting, analyzing, and reporting financial data to support management decision-making
