Your role

The Credit Portfolio Analyst is an entry-level position responsible for participating in a variety of portfolio monitoring activities to identify credit mitigation in coordination with the Risk Management team. The overall objective of this role is to assist in managing Citi's portfolio exposure to clients and counterparties globally.

  • The candidate will be part of the Limit & Exposure Monitoring team and will be actively engaged in the procurement of NAVs for our Funds portfolio and providing assistance to Risk Managers who are handling the FIRM APAC FUNDS portfolio.
  • Perform monitoring of limit/exposures for funds counterparties under the FIRM APAC FUNDS portfolio.
  • Manage and maintain the proprietary fund database of counterparty capital and performance. Will involve liaising with fund counterparties to obtain the NAVs and other requisite data,
  • Maintain data integrity in the fund database; notify credit officers on any unusual movement in performance or trigger breaches.
  • Interaction with Risk Analytics and Sales Desks to determine correct exposure and to ensure margin terms for transactions are obtained.
  • Monitor ISDA/CSA credit terms, ensure all credit systems are updated correctly, identify & escalate breaches, and oversee resolution with analysts and Legal.
  • Coordinate with other departments and various levels of management regarding credit risk reporting issues, including investigating data issues, and resolving reporting errors.
  • Manage assigned projects in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and that deliverables are met.
  • Develop an understanding of how financial and capital markets transactions, including derivative and foreign exchange trading, generate risk exposure, and how this affects extensions of credit to varied clients.
  • Fulfil ad hoc tasks that may be assigned by the Team Leads from the ICG Coverage and Team Lead (e.g. regulatory/portfolio reports, etc)

About you

  • Graduate of Business-related courses, preferably Economics, Accounting or Finance
  • A passionate interest in finance and strong analytical, research, and organizational skills are required.  Familiarity with risk management & systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Highly attentive to details, while being able to work under pressure and deliver timely and accurate results. 
  • Strong academic background
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English
  • Strong quantitative/database management skills (Microsoft Excel, MS Access)
