Your role

As a Credit Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating creditworthiness and assessing the risk profile of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) applying for loans. 

Your role

As a Credit Underwriter, you have the following responsibilities:

• Evaluate the creditworthiness of SME loan applicants by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information.
• Assess the risk profiles of applicants, identifying potential risks and mitigating factors.
• Conduct comprehensive due diligence on borrowers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and develop a comprehensive understanding of borrowers' businesses and financial positions.
• Prepare credit assessments and recommendations for loan approvals or declines, based on sound judgment and adherence to credit policies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of loan applications and credit decisions.
• Continuously monitor and review the credit quality of existing borrowers.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of credit underwriting processes and systems.

About you

To apply, you must have the following qualifications/requirements:

• Essential: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements and assess creditworthiness.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Desire to learn and develop a career in credit underwriting and risk assessment.
• Open to fresh graduates in 2024.
