Maxim was established in April 1983 by a group of ten coworkers. By 1993, Maxim had introduced over 600 new chips and was selling its products to more than 10,000 customers around the world. In 1994, Maxim diversified its operations, brought out 140 new products, and planned to increase that number every year.

Your role

A Test Development Engineer is responsible for developing test systems solutions in the manufacture of Analog, Digital, Mixed Signal, and RF Integrated Circuits. These also include providing support to IC test manufacturing and sustained production test environment. He/she will support the test manufacturing organization in solving problems and providing corrective actions on product issues. As the product matures, he/she is expected to recommend test systems solution changes that improve the cost of manufacturing and actively participate in the disposition of material. He/she will be guided by the document “75-0001 Test Engineering Procedures and Responsibilities."

• Interacts with internal customers to define, design, document, analyze, and develop automated test solutions. Interprets test results for silicon debugging, device characterization, and new product introductions.
• Develops and releases cost-effective test solutions of moderate to complex IC products into high-volume production.
• Analyzes device test performance and generates test limit guard bands in support of six sigma standards.
• Drives test failure analysis to completion. 
• Generates all test solution documentation for manufacturing release.
• Provides training to product testing staff. 
• Ensures all products meet quality and customer performance standards through automated test equipment methods. 
• Identifies functional product problems and suggests resolutions.
• Assists with the maintenance of the reliability process. 
• Analyzes test cases for research and development of future products.  
• Applies, at minimum, an understanding of standard concepts of circuit analysis and basic electronic measurement techniques.
• Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required and provides regular progress reports.
• Contributes to the recruiting, training, and mentoring of new engineering staff.
• Ensure that the company’s commitment to environmental management, health, and safety is observed and performed.
• Responsible for upholding compliance with company rules and regulations on general management items around safety, environment, labor, ethics, 5S, and other important management directives.

About you

• Graduate of Electronics Technology, Industrial Technology major in Electronics, Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics, and Communications Engineering technology and similar 3 and 4-year technology courses  
• Knowledge of electronics and circuit analysis 
• Able to operate different equipment and tools for Wafersort and/or final test 
• Able to perform basic isolation and data gathering 
• Able to interpret Setup Sheet to be able to determine the setup requirements Able to collaborate and Proficient in oral and written communication
